Job summary

Bay City School District is seeking an Elementary School Teacher to create a positive learning environment and foster student growth in alignment with district standards.

The teacher will implement the approved curriculum, plan engaging lessons, and collaborate with staff to meet diverse student needs. A Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification is required, with ZA/ZD/ZG endorsements preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Michigan teaching certificate required.
• Elementary endorsement required.
• Additional endorsements (ZA, ZD, ZG) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abides by the policies of the Board of Education, the terms of the Master Agreement, and directives issued by the school administration within the provisions of the Master Agreement.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisors in a timely fashion.
• Works collaboratively with other educators in planning and facilitating classroom activities.
• Knows and appreciates the diversity of a global society.
• Teaches district approved curriculum.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
• Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
• Plans and coordinates the work of learning assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
• Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers and exhibits of student's work.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
