Job summary

Norwalk Public Schools in Silvermine Elementary School is seeking a full-time Dual Language Kindergarten teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will deliver Spanish language arts and social studies in an immersion setting and collaborate with the English partner to implement a team teaching model.

Qualifications

• Must hold CT bilingual PK-8 and elementary certifications.
• Fluency in Spanish and English required.
• Experience in a dual language program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach identified subjects in Spanish, maintaining the target language in an immersion setting.
• Collaborate with the English partner teacher to develop and implement a team teaching model.
• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined by the Norwalk Board of Education.
• Manage the classroom using restorative practices to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Prepare lesson plans with the team to meet language and content objectives using biliteracy techniques.
