Job summary

The Goddard School Fort Wayne is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant to work with the lead teacher in a safe, nurturing classroom for young learners. Monday-Friday schedule, full-time role, with opportunities to participate in staff meetings and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide positive guidance and encouragement to children.
• Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning centers.
• Support individual children’s needs while encouraging independence and confidence.
• Communicate professionally and positively with families and staff.
• Follow all centre policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other classroom staff to provide consistent, high-quality care and education.
