The Goddard School Fort Wayne is seeking a caring Kindergarten Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The role supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing classroom where young children learn and grow.

This full-time position emphasizes collaboration with teachers, consistent routines, and attention to health and safety regulations. A teaching certificate is not required, but coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.

• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide positive guidance and encouragement to children.
• Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning centers.
• Support individual children’s needs while encouraging independence and confidence.
• Communicate professionally and positively with families and staff.
• Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other classroom staff to provide consistent, high-quality care and education.

About the Position

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The Kindergarten Assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop.
