Position Overview

St. Joseph Catholic School seeks a Kindergarten Aide who is nurturing, organized, and committed to supporting young learners in a Christ‑centered environment. The Kindergarten Aide plays an important role in helping create a joyful, structured, and engaging classroom where students develop foundational academic, social, and faith‑based skills.

The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, collaborative, and enjoys working with young children while supporting the classroom teacher in daily instruction and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

• Assist the Kindergarten teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities
• Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
• Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
• Assist with transitions, routines, and classroom organization
• Help supervise students during recess, lunch, and other school activities

Classroom & Instructional Support

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
• Assist with hands‑on learning activities and centers
• Help maintain a structured, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Support classroom management and student engagement

Organization & Communication

• Assist with grading, filing, and record keeping as needed
• Support classroom organization and preparation for lessons
• Communicate effectively with the lead teacher and school staff
• Assist with communication materials for families as directed by the teacher

Faith & Community Formation

• Model Christian values and positive behavior for students
• Support classroom prayer and faith formation activities
• Help foster a caring, respectful, and Christ‑centered learning environment
• Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and community events

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children preferred
• High school diploma required; college coursework in education preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Patient, nurturing, and positive demeanor
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
