Job summary

LaValley Building Supply in New England seeks an experienced Kiln Manager to oversee dry-kiln operations and air-yard management for White Pine products.

You will supervise kiln and yard crews, coordinate with the sales team on production priorities, and ensure safety and quality across all operations, with a focus on moisture control and minimizing degrade.

Pay is DOE and commensurate with experience, offering leadership of a key New England lumber operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in lumber kiln drying; New England/Eastern White Pine preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of green-yard operations and kiln loading.
• Ability to coordinate with sales on production priorities.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

DiPrizio Pine is seeking an experienced Kiln Manager to oversee dry-kiln operations and air-yard management for New England White Pine.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the air yard (green lumber storage, stacking, inventory, and protection)
• Plan and supervise kiln loading, drying schedules, and unloading
• Work closely with the sales team to prioritize kiln loads based on customer orders and delivery needs
• Control moisture content and minimize degrade on White Pine
• Supervise kiln and yard crew; maintain safety and quality standards
• Coordinate maintenance and track production performance

Requirements

• Proven experience in lumber kiln drying (New England / Eastern White Pine preferred)
• Hands-on knowledge of green-yard operations and kiln loading
• Ability to coordinate effectively with sales on production priorities
• Supervisory experience required
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
