Job summary

CoorsTek in Oak Ridge, TN, is seeking a Kiln Maintenance Technician to repair, install and maintain complex manufacturing machinery and facility equipment. You will work within a team to meet departmental goals and keep the work area clean.

The role requires five years of manufacturing machinery and building experience, a high school diploma or technical certification, and the ability to read schematics. Target hiring range is USD 27.00 - 35.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years manufacturing machinery and building experience.
• Ability to provide and receive verbal and written instructions.
• Intermediate math, computer and time-management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of machine repair, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, mill-wright and/or facility maintenance.
• Attention to detail and excellent listening and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people from different cultures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex process machinery, researching efficient solutions.
• Perform internal and external facility maintenance such as HVAC, painting, plumbing, welding.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing or facility equipment and propose permanent solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance per a set schedule, changing coolants, lubricants or filters.
• Train and coach incoming mechanics on work instructions and processes.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandated.

Job Title Kiln Maintenance Technician

Responsible for repair, installation and general upkeep of complex, interrelated manufacturing machinery, facility equipment and/or building. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives. Maintains work area cleanliness.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair, with or without schematic or manual, complex, interrelated process machinery; research and recommend efficient and cost effective solution to appropriate leader
• Perform internal and external facility equipment or building maintenance such as HVAC, painting, plumbing, welding etc.
• Troubleshoot challenging manufacturing or facility equipment, recommend permanent solution to appropriate leader
• Perform preventative maintenance such as changing coolants, lubricants or filters, following a set schedule
• Train and coach incoming mechanics and maintenance associates on department work instructions, processes, and procedures
• Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

Job Requirements: Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required - Relevant Vocational or Technical certification preferred

Target Hiring Range : USD 27.00 - USD 35.00
