Job Title

Kiln/Furnace Technician I

Responsibilities
  1. Perform and document kiln and furnace operations following approved work instructions and procedures.
  2. Take incremental readings and maintain firing within specifications.
  3. Monitor and adjust kiln and furnace push timing using software.
  4. Restart kilns/furnaces after outages or surges.
  5. Perform routine maintenance on kilns and furnaces.
  6. Correct firing issues and notify relevant personnel.
  7. Report issues with equipment or product conditions.
  8. Manually handle kiln cars as needed.
  9. Load and unload products for kilns/furnaces.
  10. Rebuild kiln cars, including replacing parts.
  11. Track and inspect kiln furniture and components.
  12. Assist in other areas as assigned.
  13. Work various shifts/days as required.
Job Requirements
Shift
  • Day Shift - 2-2-3 schedule, 5:00am - 5:30pm EST, 12-hour shifts
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months manufacturing or related experience.
Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of ceramic loading and firing processes.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Forklift certification if required.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams.
