Job summary

Board of Certified Safety Professionals is seeking personnel to manage the burning department operations, including dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage and propane systems. Responsibilities include operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and daily shift reports.

Candidates must be able to work in hot conditions, learn the full department functions, monitor kilns, perform daily tests, and complete daily brick quality checks, while meeting safety requirements and

Qualifications

• Must work in a safe manner.

• Perform daily brick quality tests.
• Lift 20-50 lbs constantly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Work in hot conditions; wear hardhat, safety toe shoes & ear plugs.

Responsibilities

• Operate dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems.
• Oversee operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift/daily reports.
• Fill in for other dept employees when needed and learn full operation of automatic transfer cars.

Job description

You will be responsible for the full operation of the burning department including (but not limited to) dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems. You will be responsible for operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift and daily reports. Day Shift rotating: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on. Night Shift: rotating 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on. 1 day shift openings and 2 night shift openings.

• Must work in a safe manner.
• Obey safety signs and warnings.
• Be able to learn the full operation of the burning dept and DLA.
• Monitor kilns and make adjustments, as needed.
• Make daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor, as needed.
• Learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.
• Fill in for other dept employees, when needed.
• Learn basic computer skills.
• Do daily reports.
• Perform daily brick quality tests.
• Obtain forklift license.
• Knowledge and ability to use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, as needed.
• Lift 20-50 lbs constantly and be able to lift 80 lbs occasionally.
• Twist, stoop, bend and crawl.
• Climb ladders, steps and work in high places.
• Work in hot conditions.
• Hardhat, safety toe shoes & ear plugs are required.
