Position Overview

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Engineering Team focused on carbon-free technologies. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Field Engineer will lead health and safety initiatives, ensure quality of reporting and workmanship, and oversee all engineering work conducted on-site in a professional and ethical manner. Responsibilities include contract administration, project planning, scheduling, reporting, and advising Project Management on contractual, legal, and project issues.

Location

The position is based in Lenexa, KS, supporting active construction sites in TN, ID, and SC.

Responsibilities
  • Field Engineering: Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations, prepare work plans, support field surveying, compile daily labor data, develop Job Hazard Analyses, participate in safety meetings, order materials, and coordinate work groups.
  • Office Engineering: Perform material takeoffs, support engineering calculations and drafting, assist with data collection for submittals, prepare purchase orders, maintain project records, enter data into the cost system, generate change orders, and supervise subcontractor operations.
  • Estimating: Review project data, analyze risks, perform material and quantity takeoffs for bids.
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • 3+ years of construction field experience
  • Experience in engineering and team leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications, access construction sites in various environments
  • Motivated, ethical, safety-conscious, with strong communication skills
  • Team-oriented and capable of working independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
