Qualifications

Job Title: KidStrong General Manager

Center: Location TBD

Reports To: District Manager, DFW

FLSA Status: Exempt

Travel: Minimal Travel Locally

Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 plus Bonus

Overview: KidStrong General Managers are the leaders of the center – it is the responsibility of the General Manager to foster a culture of learning and development for both their Coaches and the Families that attend the center. The General Manager is a talented, welcoming, and engaging leader who is focused on defining goals and delivering an exceptional experience for the kids, families, and team members. The goal of the General Manager is to drive the business of the center, develop and train their coaching team, and build the culture of their center.

This position will oversee the new center opening process for the next KidStrong in DFW. While the center is in construction, job duties will be heavily focused on driving presale membership, community outreach, and current open center support, which will require local travel.

Responsibilities:

CENTER OPERATIONS
  1. Understand and drive the center’s key KPI’s and financials, including a profit and loss statement.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with KidStrong families to align with our core values.
  3. Oversee center level initiatives i.e. center maintenance, training, brand consistency etc.
  4. Daily, Weekly, and Monthly cleaning and maintenance of the center.
  5. Manage center level employee issues and appropriate documentation.
  6. Typical schedule includes 4 weekday and 1 weekend shifts.
  7. Set and communicate Coach schedules using appropriate scheduling.
  8. Schedule, sell, and staff KidStrong events, such as Camps and Parties, to maximize center profitability.
SALES
  1. Drive membership sales through high-volume outbound phone calls on inbound leads (50+ calls/day is a typical outbound phone sales effort).
  2. During the presale stage, phone calls can exceed 150+ calls/day.
  3. Properly manage and exceed all KidStrong sales and operational budgets.
  4. Respond and follow through in a timely manner with all KidStrong corporate/owner requests and client/lead requests.
  5. Drive sales through thorough trial conversion in the center.
LEADERSHIP
  1. Foster a coaching culture - see something, say something.
  2. Continuously assess and document Coaches based on the KidStrong Coach DNA profile and class quality.
  3. Achieve all Certifications required by KidStrong HQ per your role and responsibilities.
  4. Recruit, screen, interview, onboard, manage, train and evaluate coaching candidates.
  5. Ensure candidates complete all paperwork to be in compliance with company policy and law.
  6. Lead coaching candidates through the training process and required evaluations.
  7. Ensure coaching evaluations are up to date on a 30/60/90 model.
  8. Manage and support ongoing professional development of staff through LearnUpon.
  9. Lead center level staff meetings and trainings.
  10. Attend weekly leadership meeting with DFW leaders.
COACHING
  1. Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Brain, Physical, and Character development for ages ranging from 15 months - 11 years-old.
  2. Complete training through LearnUpon as required.
  3. Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum.
  4. Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements.
  5. Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack.
  6. Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  7. Must be comfortable physically working with kids to ensure proper technique and safety.
  8. Lead monthly center staff meetings focused on culture, development, product, and performance.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Passion for working with children is non-negotiable.
  2. Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding a variety of topics.
  3. Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required.
  4. Previous experience in management is preferred but not required.
  5. 2 to 4 years of sales experience.
  6. Practical work experience with Google platforms.
  7. Previous experience with systems and platforms such as GloFox, LearnUpon, CareerPlug, and Gusto is preferred but not required.
  8. Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.
  9. CPR certified.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will supervise all Coaches, the Lead Coach, and the Assistant General Manager.
