Job summary

Skilz for Kids in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a KidStrong Coach to deliver an evolving curriculum for children from walking age to 11 years old. You'll help families discover each child’s potential, maintain a high-energy, safe classroom, and record participation data.

The role includes required coaching certification and ongoing staff collaboration. As a coach, you will work at least 6 hours per week, lead classes on schedule, and actively engage with parents and families to foster

Job Title: KidStrong Coach
Center: Corpus Christ, TX

Coaches help parents discover their child’s superpowers and teach kids to believe in themselves. Responsibilities

Coaching

• Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Character, Physical, and Cognitive development up to 24 hours a week.
• Achieve Coach Certification through the HQ Training and Certification team.
• Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum and be able to clearly and concisely communicate it.
• Coach classes for students with age groups ranging from walking to 11 years-old.
• Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
• Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational. and professional demeanor when leading class.
• Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements.
• Use the KS Coaches App to record data and provide data (attendance, awards, etc.).
• Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
• Coaches must have availability of a minimum of 6 hours per week.
• Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum.
• Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
• Must be comfortable physically working with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
• Assisting parents of students, ages 3 and younger, with the direction and flow of a class.
• Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required by the Lead Coach and/or HQ Training and Certification team.
• Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the Lead Coach.
• Learn and manage KidStrong Camps held by centers when local schools are not operating (example: Winter Break, Summer Break)

Skills / Qualifications

• Passion for working with children is non-negotiable
• Athletic or coaching background; ideally with experience coaching kids ages walking to 11
• Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding variety of topics
• Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required
• Positive, motivating public speaking and strong interpersonal communication skills
• Commitment to schedule
• Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics
• CPR certified
• Self-starter who just gets the job done
• Enjoy the spotlight, excel in coaching, and mentoring
• Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will be mentoring so communication and interpersonal skills are important.

Compensation: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
