Job summary

The YMCA of South Florida is seeking a Family Services Counselor to supervise children in Kids Zone, Club Y, and Summer Camp at South Dade FC in Miami, FL. You will help plan and implement age-appropriate activities while ensuring safety and alignment with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include attendance, parent communication, event support, and adherence to policies and risk management. Must be at least 17 and have a high school diploma or GED; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year working with children or childcare experience.
• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish or Creole is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take and maintain daily attendance records for children.
• Plan activities for and supervise a group of children.
• Communicate with parents/guardians in a courteous and professional manner.
• Assist supervisor with family center events.
• Demonstrate and adapt activities to individual needs and development.
• Report injuries, behavior problems and health concerns as required.
• Ensure all safety guidelines and login/logout procedures are followed.
• Participate in required trainings and programs.
• Engage in summer camp activities and other related duties.
