Smiles Pediatric Dental Care in Lanham / Bowie, MD is hiring an Orthodontic Assistant to join a kid-focused team. The position requires X-ray and CPR certification, with preference for 1 year in an orthodontic practice.

Qualifications

• X-ray and CPR certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an ortho practice is preferred, but we will train the right person.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.
• Additional certification or training is a plus.
• Experience with Denticon software or iTero scanners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid-friendly environment.
