Job description

Principle Function: Develop, enhance and lead the Kids Ministry department of Storehouse Church, considering the needs of parents, kids and volunteers.

Reports to: Jen Edmond, Family Ministries Pastor

Hours: 18 hrs/ week. Proposed schedule:
Sunday 8-1 (5 hrs) required at the church building
Tuesday 10-3 (5 hrs) required at the church building
Thursday 10-3 (5 hrs) recommended office hours with some flexibility
Remaining 3 hours can be split between regularly scheduled office hours on Monday and/or Wednesday and flex hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Nurture and pursue your authentic relationship with Jesus, recognizing that it's only through Him that we serve in the work He's called us to.
  2. Serve as a contributing member of the staff team; attend meetings, conferences and trainings regularly.
  3. Advocate for kids and families as discussions and decisions are made church-wide.
  4. Provide leadership, direction and management of all Kids Ministry programs as a forward-facing leader, sharing vision in compelling and dynamic ways.
  5. Maintain commitment to the Orange philosophy for approach to ministry, curriculum and interaction with volunteers, kids and parents.
  6. Organize, prioritize and implement various tasks across ministry audiences to ensure timely, excellent execution.

Essential Program Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Kids Clubhouse Sunday morning programs.
  2. Lead regular Family Experiences, including family presence at all church events (Easter Fest, Fall Fest, Summer Picnics, etc.).
  3. Plan and execute an annual VBS program.
  4. Manage the Child Dedication process.

For all programs:

  1. Create dynamic, engaging and fun environments for preschool and elementary aged kids.
  2. Ensure a positive parent experience, making meaningful contact with parents.
  3. Recruit, train and lead leaders of ministry areas where appropriate.
  4. Recruit, train and place volunteers.
  5. Plan and execute annual celebration and training events for volunteers.
  6. Implement curriculum with excellence.
  7. Carry out, and refine where needed, all policies and procedures to ensure the safety and protection of kids.
  8. Oversee budget areas related to kids ministry.
  9. Evaluate efficacy of all systems and make adjustments where necessary.
  10. Other duties as needed to be a team player!
