Primrose School at Tatum in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Food Service Teacher (Chef) to prepare nutritious meals for children and support a safe, clean kitchen environment. The role collaborates on menus and maintains adherence to allergy policies while ensuring timely service.

Ideal candidates relate well to young children, have experience with quantity food preparation, and can lift up to 35 lbs as part of daily duties. This is a full-time position at our Primrose School at Tatum location.

Qualifications

• Experience with quantity food preparation for groups.
• Ability to relate positively to young children.
• Must meet basic regulatory requirements for childcare and food service.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains awareness of children with allergies and offers substitutes as needed.
• Ensures food service area and food items are nut-free per policy and checks labels.
• Follows the daily menu prepared by the Director or supervisor.
• Complies with portion control standards for meals and snacks.
• Adapt menus as instructed by supervisors.
• Ensures each meal is ready to be served on schedule.
• Assists with ordering food and estimates quantities needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen area at all times.
• Attends staff meetings and school events.
• Adheres to appearance guidelines in the employee handbook.
• Assists in other duties as required by the Director.
