Job summary

Target is seeking a Designer, Product + Print Designer – Kids Home to drive print and product design across bedding, bath and soft home goods. You will translate ideas using CAD/3D renders, hand sketches, and fabric/material explorations, ensuring alignment with merchant plans and creative direction.

You will collaborate with design leadership, merchants, and sourcing to maintain brand cohesion and meet price points, while delivering thoughtful, compliant designs across multiple materials.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience and certifications. In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring that our products meet the merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.

As a Designer, Product + Print Designer – Kids Home, you will support both print design and product design within Kids Home Owned Brands that achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Under the overall direction of Design leadership, you’ll work across categories including bedding, bath and soft home goods. You will be expected to maintain a diligent approach to workload, which includes timely communication with internal and external partners, an managing your own calendar and process. You’ll support and drive concepts throughout the development process, research, print and pattern development, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language. Using CAD/3D/AI renders/hand sketches, you’ll translate ideas for product direction. This includes preparing professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples. In addition, you will support and drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points. You’ll build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to ensure continuity. In collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners, you’ll also identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues.

About You

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software and rendering tools
• Knowledge/Interest in AI design tools
• Knowledge of materials including textiles, and hard material finishes
• Be able to design product across multipe materials (ex. bedding, soft décor, hard décor, gifts)
• Have a strategic and business oriented mindset
• Able to create and translate trend concepts
• Able to create or direct print and pattern needs
• Experience assimilating product feedback
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment
• Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment
• Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
