Job summary

Target's Design team seeks a Designer, Product + Print Designer – Kids Home, to drive print and product design across bedding, bath, and soft home goods. You will translate concepts into CAD renders and hand sketches, collaborating with merchants, sourcing, and design leadership to maintain brand cohesion and creative direction.

You will build professional presentation boards, manage calendars, and stay ahead of industry trends, materials, and finishes.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring that our products meet the merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.

As a Designer, Product + Print Designer – Kids Home, you will support both print design and product design within Kids Home Owned Brands that achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Under the overall direction of Design leadership, you will work across categories including bedding, bath and soft home goods. You will be expected to maintain a diligent approach to workload, which includes timely communication with internal and external partners, an managing your own calendar and process. You’ll support and drive concepts throughout the development process, research, print and pattern development, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language. Using CAD/3D/AI renders/hand sketches, you’ll translate ideas for product direction. This includes preparing professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples. In addition, you will support and drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points. You’ll build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to ensure continuity. In collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners, you’ll also identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues.

About You

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software and rendering tools
• Knowledge/Interest in AI design tools
• Knowledge of materials including textiles, and hard material finishes
• Be able to design product across multipe materials (ex. bedding, soft décor, hard décor, gifts)
• Have a strategic and business oriented mindset
• Able to create and translate trend concepts
• Able to create or direct print and pattern needs
• Experience assimilating product feedback
