Job summary

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI seeks an experienced transplant nephrologist to serve as Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program. This role combines clinical care with leadership to direct program activities and ensure high-quality outcomes.

The position includes evaluation and management across the transplant continuum, donor assessment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BC/BE nephrologist with 5+ years in kidney and multi‑organ transplantation.
• Meets OPTN requirements for Primary Kidney Transplant Physician.
• AST/ASN-accredited Renal Transplant fellowship preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills; team player.
• Eligible for unrestricted Michigan Medical License and DEA.

Responsibilities

• Direct all Kidney Transplant Program activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide clinical care across pre-transplant, waitlist, peri-transplant, and post-transplant phases.
• Evaluate donors and recipients, including living and deceased donors.
• Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to teaching, research, and program development initiatives.
