Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Erie is hiring a Kid Zone Attendant at the Eastside YMCA location. You will supervise and engage children ages 6 weeks to 8 years while families work out or attend classes, ensuring safety and a positive environment.

We seek friendly, patient individuals who can stay calm under pressure, follow safety procedures, and help keep the area tidy. CPR Pro and First Aid certifications are required, as is the ability to pass background and physical checks.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic skills working with children.
• Current CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) and First Aid (for the community and workplace).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a physical.
• Love for children.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, secure and positive environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years.
• Maintain supervision using the see, hear, direct, and assess approach.
• Keep the Kid Zone area clean and organized; follow YMCA emergency procedures.
• Engage with children and families; read, sing and play to support development.

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Kid Zone Attendant for our Eastside YMCA location. Are you creative, energetic, and fun-loving? Do you love working with children and watching them giggle? If so, please read on!

This position pays up to $14.98/hour depending on experience.

WORK SCHEDULE

Available shifts: Monday, Thursday, Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm / Monday and Wednesday evenings 5:30pm - 8:00pm / Saturday 8:30am - 12:00pm.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KID ZONE ATTENDANT

As a Kid Zone Attendant at one of our locations, you help our members meet their fitness goals by providing a safe, secure and positive environment for their children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. Kid Zone is a service for YMCA family members providing drop-in care for their children with trained staff while they enjoy an onsite workout or class.

You are friendly and patient as you ensure the safety of all children. Always alert, you provide proper supervision for the children as you "see, hear, direct, and assess." Parents feel good about leaving their children in your loving and capable hands.

With enthusiasm, you help keep the kid zone area clean and in order. You are also conscientious about the YMCA emergency procedures and find ways to have fun with the children while they are in your care.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A KID ZONE ATTENDANT

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic skills working with children
• Current certification in CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) and First Aid (for the community and workplace).
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a physical
• Love for children
