Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools is seeking a Kid Zone Assistant at Lakeview Elementary School in Minnesota. You will engage with students before and after school, leading educational activities and ensuring safety while having fun. This part-time role offers field trips, a supportive team, and opportunities to create meaningful experiences for students.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age and a high school diploma.
• Training or experience working with children in a group tutorial and supervisory setting.
• Interpersonal skills that lend themselves to a compatible working relationship with students and other adults.
• Possess basic academic competencies to provide tutorial assistance to the student(s) as needed.

Responsibilities

Position Type: Community Education/ Kid Zone Assistant

Location: Lakeview Elementary School

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Workdirectly with and supervises large and small groups of children in planned activities throughout a variety of settings, such as: classroom, cafeteria, gym, computer lab, playground and while on field trips.
• Work with children with a variety of needs.
• Supervises children during transition, breakfast, lunch and snack.
• Assists the Kid Zone Instructor in preparing and implementing the daily curriculum.
• Maintains room environment by setting up, cleaning and storing supplies and equipment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 18 years of age, high school diploma
• Training or experience working with children in a group tutorial and supervisory setting.
• Interpersonal skills that lend themselves to a compatible working relationship with students and other adults in the workplace as determined by the coordinator.
• Possess basic academic competencies to provide tutorial assistance to the student(s) as needed.

SCHEDULE:

• 25 hours per week
• AM Shift time: 7am to 9:30am and PM Shift time: 3pm to 5:30pm

This position follows the school year calendar, from September to June, with a total of 176 days + field trip days.
