Job summary

Piedmont Global (PGLS) is seeking an experienced Khmer Language Instructor for NFATC, onsite in Arlington, VA. The instructor will deliver Khmer language classes, assess student progress, and collaborate with the LTS and team to ensure effective training and testing.

Requirements include ILR Level 4 Khmer, 3 years of teaching adults, proficiency-based curricula, and experience with hybrid instruction. Strong computer and online-class skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Khmer language proficiency at ILR Level 4 or higher.
• Cambodian/Southeast Asia cultural background.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD or foreign equivalent degree in any field.
• Minimum 3 years teaching Khmer to adult learners.
• Minimum 3 years using proficiency-based or task-based curricula.
• Minimum 1 year administering proficiency-based assessments (DLPT/OPI/etc).
• Basic computer skills (email, MS Office, online meeting software).
• Experience with hybrid teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct Khmer language classes onsite in Arlington, VA.
• Collaborate with LTS and other instructors on training/testing matters.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement.
• Conduct progress assessments to evaluate learning.
• Maintain a respectful, student-centered environment and provide encouragement.
• Manage online classroom using the learning management system.
• Plan/participate in non-classroom activities with COR when approved.
