Job summary

Piedmont Global (PGLS) seeks an Indonesian Language Instructor to conduct group classes onsite in Arlington, VA, using established materials and collaborating with LTS and other instructors. The role includes assessing progress and providing feedback to adult learners.

Requirements include fluency in Indonesian, a relevant degree, and at least 3 years of experience with proficiency-based curricula and assessments, plus familiarity with common online tools.

Qualifications

• Educated speaker of Indonesian (preferably Level 4 or higher on ILR scale).
• BA/BS, MA/MS or Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in any field.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching Indonesian to adult learners (2+ students).
• Minimum of three years teaching Indonesian with proficiency-based curricula.
• Minimum of one year administering proficiency-based assessments (FSI tester or rater, DLPT or OPI).
• Knowledge of basic computer skills: email, Microsoft Office, online meeting software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group Indonesian language classes onsite in Arlington, VA.
• Use established materials and collaborate with LTS and other instructors.
• Assess students’ progress and provide feedback; adapt teaching techniques as needed.
• Conduct progress assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Provide a respectful, student-centered environment with constructive feedback.
• Maintain an online classroom environment via the Learning Management System.
