Job Purpose

KHI Construction Foremen are key to our success, representing the company on-site and ensuring that workers, sub-contractors, material deliveries, and activities stay on schedule. They lead small teams on projects ranging from equipment installation to operating room renovations. Foremen must plan, communicate, execute, and debrief effectively, and also maintain professionalism and communication with clients to foster trust and repeat business.

Key Attributes of a KHI Construction Foreman

Foremen should be construction experts, capable of leading teams of medical equipment technicians, network specialists, and subcontractors. They must promote quality, accountability, teamwork, and achievement. Essential skills include:

• Experience and knowledge of the construction industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Understanding of building codes for electrical, fire suppression, medical gas, etc.
• Pre-project planning for efficiency.
• Effective communication with team and clients.
• Managing changes according to priorities.
• Providing regular updates to clients.
• Debriefing with teams and clients for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma required; college degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• At least three years in a leadership role.
• Willingness to travel out of town 80% or more.
• Ability to work with installation teams.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read plans and follow scope of work.
• Ability to assess scope changes and request change orders.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends nationwide.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and lift up to 70 pounds.

Proficiency in computer use, including:

Compensation

• Salary range: $60,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
