A Day in the Life of a Restaurant General Manager

• Control profitability by managing cash control/security procedures, inventory, labor, financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.
• Recruit, interview, and hire team members, shift managers, and assistant GMs.
• Coach and train employees to operational excellence.
• Complete inventory counts bi-weekly.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure an exceptional guest experience with friendliness and quality.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a General Manager in food service or retail, including Profit & Loss responsibility, preferably in QSR.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Availability to close at least two nights a week.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects; stand and walk constantly; operate restaurant equipment safely.

Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location. Starting ranges include:

• Maryland: $53,000 - $58,000
• New York: $55,000 - $60,000
• New York City: $65,000 - $70,000
• Cincinnati, OH: $54,000 - $58,000
