Job summary

Jacobs in Key West, FL is seeking a Wastewater Operator to join a collaborative team responsible for operating and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant. Based in Key West, you’ll perform a variety of tasks including preventive maintenance, sampling procedures, lab testing, and reporting to ensure uninterrupted client services.

You will diagnose operating problems, adjust processes, and apply corrective actions while maintaining shift logs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Florida wastewater license Class C or higher
• Higher-level wastewater certifications welcomed
• Experience with safety principles and practices
• Experience with computers, spreadsheets, and word processing, and maintenance management systems

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a wastewater treatment plant.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Establish and maintain sample procedures for plant operations and effluent.
• Prepare reports and collect samples; perform laboratory testing.
• Determine chemical flow rates; maintain shift logs.
• Execute corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure safety, health, and well-being of the team.
