Job summary

Catbird in DC is seeking an experienced part-time Key Holder to lead our store team, assist with operations, and supervise staff, ensuring every customer receives a welcoming, high-touch buying experience.

You will drive sales of demi-fine jewelry and piercing services, coach stylists, open and close the store, and support daily merchandising, inventory, and visual standards, while fitting weekend and holiday schedules.

Qualifications

• An experienced retail leader who can guide and motivate a sales team.
• Strong customer service orientation and sales mindset.
• Comfortable performing hands-on services (Forever Jewelry welding and piercings) after training.
• Flexible and reliable with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sales floor with confidence and warmth, ensuring every customer receives a welcoming, high-touch buying experience.
• Drive sales by actively engaging customers and confidently selling jewelry and piercing services.
• Perform Forever Jewelry welding and device-based ear piercings to high standards, prioritizing safety and comfort.
• Coach Stylists through real-time feedback, modeling selling behaviors and brand storytelling.
• Monitor service flow, wait times, and floor coverage; adjust to balance selling and services during busy periods.
• Resolve customer questions, returns, or escalations with care and sound judgment.
• Open and close the store and support daily operations, including inventory and visual standards.

Catbird is looking for experienced part-time Key Holders to join our retail team for our team in DC! As a Key Holder, you will be a leader on our store team assisting with the store operations and supervision of staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and support daily operations, including inventory, merchandising, and visual standards.

• Jewelry or piercing experience is a plus, but curiosity and a commitment to learning are essential.
• Flexible and reliable with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
