Overview

The Key Carrier assists in the management of the retail facility. This position could be a cashier, receiver, or sales associate. The Key Carrier should know the necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in his/her absence, on a short-term basis, and be able to open and close the store as directed.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform specific responsibilities as a cashier, receiver, or sales associate as described in respective job descriptions.
• Open and close the store as directed.
• Assist in managing the retail store and supervising store associates.
• Understand store operations and act as the Store Manager in his/her absence.
• Support the day-to-day store operations.
• Help train new store associates.
• Maintain safety and security awareness, report incidents promptly.
• Implement company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to increasing sales, maintaining profits, and reducing expenses.
• Maintain store appearance and staff appearance standards.
• Engage actively in personal selling.
• Participate in shrinkage control measures.
• Resolve personnel and customer issues effectively.
• Perform other usual and customary retail duties.
• Assist the store manager with miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Understand reports from the general office and coach associates to meet goals (e.g., ADS, UPT, Payroll, Refunds, Turnover).
