Job Purpose:
The Key Account Manager Machine Distributor UK will be responsible for developing Machine Distributors and seeking new partnerships within the United Kingdom. This role is part of the regional sales team and reports to the Head of the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key machine distributors.
- Act as the main contact for distributor-related business matters.
- Conduct business reviews and strategic planning sessions with distributors.
- Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Drive sales through distributor channels by setting and tracking targets.
- Identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts or regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions for distributors.
- Business Planning & Forecasting:
- Create joint business plans with distributors, including sales forecasts and marketing activities.
- Monitor distributor performance against targets and KPIs.
- Provide sales forecasts and pipeline reports to senior management.
- Distributor Development & Support:
- Support distributors with training, product information, and marketing tools.
- Help develop their capabilities in sales, application, and customer engagement.
- Resolve issues related to pricing, inventory, logistics, and customer service.
- Market Strategy:
- Gather market intelligence on competitors, trends, and customer feedback.
- Analyze data to identify market opportunities and threats.
- Contribute to product positioning and distribution strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work with marketing, finance, logistics, technical service, and product management teams.
- Ensure smooth execution of promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Compliance & Contract Management:
- Ensure distributor activities comply with contracts, policies, and regulations.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and renewals.
- Identify needs of machinery distributors, particularly Hitachi & Volvo brands.
- Negotiate distribution contracts and develop operational strategies.
- Manage tools and services for distributor sales and deploy sales strategies to increase turnover and margin.
- Analyze company performance and define action plans.
- Collaborate with subsidiaries and partners.
- Interact with construction contractors and major regional accounts.
- Monitor sales activity, provide forecasts, and lead pilot projects.
- Travel up to approximately 60% of the time.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Several years of experience in a similar role.
- Background in sales.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Well-organized, accurate, thorough, and a self-directed team player.
- Willingness to travel across EMEA (~60%).
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Strategic, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong listening skills and ability to engage at various levels.
- Ability to prioritize and monitor project progress.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Solid knowledge of applying strategy to the market.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills are essential.
