Job summary

Rich Products Corporation in MN/IA/ND region is seeking a Key Account Manager (K-12) for Food Service to drive market plans and growth. You will cover a Minneapolis-area geography, expanding K-12 operator penetration and new menu priorities.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in food service sales, strong negotiation and communication skills, and experience with Salesforce. Willingness to travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business management, finance, economics or marketing.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Food Service industry, K-12 segment preferred.
  • Proven change management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communications with strong presentations.
  • Solid understanding of product and P&L.
  • Competency in multi-tasking/problem solving/troubleshooting.
  • Highly organized and self-disciplined.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Data insights experience a plus (Circana, Nielsen or similar).
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute market plans within assigned geography.

  • Manage and leverage USDA commodity balances.
  • Support execution and measurement of federal/state commodity contracting.

  • Establish relationships with distributor bid department contacts.
  • Be the key liaison between customer order process and WHQ support teams.

Purpose Statement

The Key Account Manager (K-12 segment) will be accountable for the execution of the Food Service Division (FSD) strategic plan priorities and AOP objectives within their assigned geography; coordinating with K-12 segment leaders, and Zone assets against the growth management of assigned market targets.

This professional should live close to the Minneapolis area to cover the MN, IA and ND region.

  • Execute market plans within assigned geography including:
  • Drive market penetration of assigned K-12 operator base holding and generating new menu positions
  • Aggressively driving K-12 demand of new product priorities
  • Manage and leverage USDA commodity balances in the territory
  • Support the execution and measurement of our federal and state commodity contracting.
  • Lead intelligence gathering and support of the bid process in the territory.
  • Participate in key K-12 events (school district and state).
  • Achieve volume and margin plans by market: base solidification and growth, strategic category, and RONA/GM capture.
  • Establish effective relationships with key distributor bid department contacts in Zone.
  • Responsible for entry of sales deals and is key liaison between customer order process and WHQ support teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (business management, finance, economics or marketing preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Food Service industry , direct selling experience preferred in the K-12 segment
  • Proven change management capabilities
  • Excellent negotiation skills and influencing skills
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills to include strong presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of product and P&L’s
  • Competency in multi-tasking/problem solving/troubleshooting
  • Exceptionally self-disciplined and organized
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Software.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Data and insights experience a plus (Circana, Nielsen or similar)
  • Serv-safe certification preferred

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (i.e.; product samples cases, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for 6 or more hours during the work day (i.e.; trade shows, product demonstrations, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 75% to cover MN, IA and ND region

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$85,047.00-$115,064.00
