Purpose
Implement specific product and brand strategies for focus categories within key accounts. Lead sell-in and sell-through initiatives for those categories, along with retail activation and collaboration with the merchandising team to achieve profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Use strong business acumen and retail math skills to drive top and bottom-line results for the account.
- Assess and build on areas of momentum to grow profitability; identify product and pricing opportunities; employ innovative sales tactics to enhance sales performance.
- Develop strategic sales plans for complex retail accounts, leveraging insights and aligning with brand and category goals.
- Utilize market and competitor trends, along with buyer preferences, to inform sales strategies.
- Lead the sell-in and sell-through processes for focus categories, collaborating with marketing and retail teams.
- Partner with marketing and retail activation teams to implement sell-through programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and key accounts globally and locally.
- Ensure timely reporting and forecasting; manage credit claims and resolve customer compliance issues related to freight claims, charge-backs, shipping violations, RTV, and DFA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of key metric levers to increase profitability and sales.
- Ability to analyze financial data for decision-making, including margins, retail math, forecasts, and statistics.
- Practical knowledge of assortment planning based on retail space, inventory turnover, and sell-through.
- Confident and positive attitude in challenging negotiations and business interactions.
- Strong negotiation and influence skills; results-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of business; experience with presentations and storytelling.
- Merchandising and planning expertise, with the ability to create merchandise plans aligned with sell-through targets.
- Ability to enhance consumer experience at retail partners.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced computer skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry samples weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Passion for sports.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of eight years of field sales experience, preferably within key accounts of a consumer goods or sporting goods company; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
