Position Overview

The Key Account Specialist, Generics, will represent Sandoz in the generic injectable institutional marketplace, implementing strategic initiatives with complex accounts, and exceeding objectives ethically and compliantly. Responsibilities include maintaining and generating new business, ensuring GPO contract compliance, developing account relationships, and supporting Sandoz’s sales goals. The role involves engaging with decision-makers in institutions, hospitals, and clinics, utilizing targeted marketing and contract materials, and coordinating with sales and cross-functional teams to cover the territory effectively.

Customer Base

Customers may include IDN Systems, Hospitals, Clinics, Directors of Pharmacy, Buyers, HCPs, Clinicians, and Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committees. Compliance with promotional, reporting, and regulatory requirements is essential. Participation in training and development is mandatory.

Location

Remote; candidates must reside within the designated geography to manage accounts effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute detailed business plans supporting national strategies.
  • Expand business within assigned accounts through GPO and non-GPO contracts to meet sales targets.
  • Identify decision-maker networks, assess needs, and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Balance short-term demands with long-term priorities, liaising internally during contracting.
  • Prepare for and conduct successful negotiations, managing compliance risks.
  • Monitor industry trends, leverage insights for new opportunities, and identify emerging solutions.
  • Analyze and communicate performance metrics with internal teams.
  • Build strong internal alliances to support account strategies.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degrees (MBA, MS) preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years healthcare sales, including 2 years in institutional/hospital settings. 2 years of generic injectable experience is required.

Travel
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office.
  • Willing to travel 25-75% across the territory.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $93,800 - $174,200 USD/year, with potential bonuses and benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and flexible hybrid work arrangements. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors.
