Job summary

Salvation Army in Norman, OK is seeking a part-time Kettle Driver to deliver and pick up kettles and supplies at designated locations. The role requires a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, a clean MVR, and a prior background check; a credit background check may also be required.

Drives a Salvation Army vehicle for delivering and picking up Christmas kettles, supplies and bellringers to designated kettle locations. Seasonal position requiring a valid driver’s license, approved criminal background and approved credit background.

Essential Functions

Kettle Driver (95%)

• Responsible for delivering and picking up Christmas kettles, supplies and bellringers at designated kettle locations.
• Collects kettles and supplies from designated bell ringer and returns kettles to appropriate Corps office for counting.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES (5%)

• Locks vehicle doors when vehicle is not in use.
• Parks vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.
• Performs other related work as required.

• Salvation Army vehicle, Christmas Kettles and stands

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to drive up to a 24-foot box van.
• Excellent knowledge of OKC/Norman and surrounding area streets.
• General vehicle maintenance such as pre-trip inspections.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. And Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle

Certifications/Licenses

• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).

Working Conditions

• Work is performed driving various vehicles in the field while making deliveries and pick-ups.
• Work is performed in all types of weather including rain and snow, entering, and exiting vehicle multiple times a day.
