Job summary

The Salvation Army in McDonough, GA is seeking a part-time Kettle Bell Driver to transport paid ringers and kettles to locations and maintain inventory. You will also track shifts, pick up kettles in the evening, and perform spot checks to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities include driving a vehicle (possibly a 15-passenger van), following GPS directions, and reflecting The Salvation Army's mission in all duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to follow GPS directions and routes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

  • Adhere to The Salvation Army's mission, ministry, philosophy, culture and protocol.
  • Attend employee meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

This position is responsible for:Assist with the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringing Campaign. Transport ringers and kettles to their designated location.Key Responsibilities:Meet with paid Kettle Bell ringers at The Salvation Army each morning to transport bell ringers and kettles to their designated location.Keep inventory of kettles and switch out kettles as needed during the day.Pick up kettles in the evenings.Keep track of all paid bell ringer shifts and hours by indicating start and stop times on kettle slips.Transport ringers and kettles to their designated location.Perform spot checks on bell ringer locations at times other than beginning and end of shifts.Conducts job duties in accordance with the ministry of The Salvation Army and its Christian principles.Attends employee meetings as required.Perform other duties as required.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Limited amount of physical effort required associated with lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work is performed outside where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather and discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt. Dressing appropriately is important for comfort.Knowledge of the area and ability to learn the most efficient routes to different locations.Ability to arrive on time and stay on schedule.Ability to get along well with others.Ability to operate a vehicle, which may include a 15-passenger van.Ability to follow GPS route directions.Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED andOne to two years of experience in a related field, preferred.Certifications:Valid State Driver’s LicenseEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
