Job summary

Schluter Systems in New York seeks an experienced line operator to lead the Kerdi Board Line team, set up and run equipment safely, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining accurate production records.

Responsibilities

• Lead line staff in setup and operation of Kerdi Board Line.
• Operate KB Line machinery and equipment, troubleshoot, and document issues.
• Record timely and accurate production and process data.
• Recognize and react to process upsets; document observations and actions.
• Provide maintenance assistance as needed.
• Support training of personnel to achieve certification in desired position.
• Ensure operations and Quality Control tasks are understood and completed.
• Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Communicate effectively and prioritize shifting demands.

SCOPE OF DUTIES:

• Demonstrated knowledge of function and operation of all components and machinery in and used by the KB Line Operations
• Lead line staff in all task related to set-up and operation of Kerdi Board Line in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to perform operational troubleshooting of KB Line machinery and equipment. Properly document the situation and communicate to Supervisory personnel and Maintenance.
• Record timely and accurate documentation related to production and process data.
• Ability to recognize and react to process upsets to include recording of observations, process data and actions taken.
• Provide assistance to Maintenance as needed.
• Support the training of personnel - assist in candidate's training to achieve certification in desired position.
• Support line personnel to ensure task and requirements associated to operations and Quality Control are understood and being completed correctly.
• Good computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to prioritize and respond to shifting demands and production requirements.
• Complete an accurate and detailed work order for submission to Supervisor.
• Be available for any shift as required to fill in absences, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior machine operations and experience in manufacturing/industrial setting
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and processes, Toyota Production System a plus
