Job summary

The Dog House is seeking a Kennel Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary kennel facility. You will monitor animals, provide food and water, and support activities such as dog daycare, walks, and bathing. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn in a busy environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining records in Gingr, handling dog intake and treatment support, and ensuring clean, organized spaces. Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary kennel facility for animals, staff and clients.
• Provide food and water per owner guidelines; supervise dog daycare, 1:1 fetch and walks.
• Perform bathing, nail trimming, and basic medical tasks as directed; administer oral meds.
• Maintain animal records and data entry in Gingr; print reports as needed.
• Clean and disinfect kennels and facilities; manage laundry and supplies.
• Interact with coworkers to ensure a smooth, cooperative work environment.

Looking for qualified reliable individual with dog kennel or veterinary experience.

• Must be willing to work flexible schedule plus weekends and holidays.
• Must be capable of standing, walking and bending and must be able to lift up to 40lbs. Schedule is 7-1, 1-7 or 9-3
• Must have strong reading and comprehension skills.
• Must have means of transportation, good attitude, willing to work with others as well as alone. Initiative is a plus.

Tips are included in pay based on number of hours worked. There is potential to move up within the company

Kennel Technician

The primary function of the Kennel Technician is maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals, staff, and clients. Applicants must be physically active, dependable, compassionate, team player and willing to work hard and learn. Essential duties include the following:

Animal Care

• Monitoring animals and immediately reporting health or behavior abnormalities to Manager(s) or Owner
• Provide adequate food and water for pets following owner guidelines.
• Complete client services:
  • Doggie Daycare
  • 1:1 fetch
  • Walks
• Rotate dogs to outside kennels twice a shift for potty breaks.
• Perform animal bathing (brushing, de-shedding, drying)
• Preform nail trimming and dremmling.
• Administer oral medication and give vaccinations to animals.
• Assist with animal intake, evaluation, and treatment.
• Create and maintain necessary animal records, perform data entry into business software named Gingr.
• Print services and other reports using Gingr.

Facility Care

• Follow established disease control protocols to daily clean, disinfect and maintain all kennel floor walkways, pet spaces, and general areas.
• Sweep, mop, floors, and dog kennels daily.
• Deep clean all Mason Kennels, including tops and bottoms of cages, intake, and isolation areas on a regular basis.
• Operate laundry equipment, fold laundry.
• Wash pet bowls, raised feeders, toys, etc.
• Restock cleaning areas with supplies and equipment.
• Clean and maintain the daycare yard and outdoor communal areas.
• Dispose of poop sacks daily in the onsite dumpster.
