Chatham Small Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, hardworking Kennel Attendant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a veterinary hospital clean, organized, sanitary, and comfortable for our patients, clients, and team.What You'll DoCleaning and maintaining the hospital is a primary responsibility of this position. You will help ensure our facility meets high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day.Responsibilities include:Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, runs, cages, treatment areas, and other hospital spacesCleaning up urine, feces, hair, and other messes promptly and thoroughlyWashing and changing bedding, blankets, towels, and other linensEmptying trash and maintaining clean waste areasSweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other general cleaning dutiesKeeping floors, walls, doors, windows, and surfaces clean and presentableMaintaining organized and sanitary animal housing areasFeeding and providing fresh water to hospitalized and boarding animals as directedAssisting with laundry and maintaining adequate supplies of clean bedding and towelsRestocking cleaning and animal care suppliesFollowing all hospital cleaning, sanitation, and safety protocolsAssisting the veterinary team with other basic hospital and animal-care tasks as neededWhat We're Looking ForSomeone who genuinely enjoys cleaning and takes pride in doing it wellDependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a teamComfortable working around dogs, cats, bodily fluids, odors, and messesAble to stay on task and work independentlyStrong attention to detailAble to move quickly while still maintaining high cleaning standardsComfortable with physical work, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and cleaningPrevious veterinary, kennel, animal care, or cleaning experience is a plus, but not requiredMust be willing to work some weekends and holidays as neededWhy Join Us?You'll be an important part of the hospital team and play a key role in keeping our patients safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
