Job summary

Chatham Small Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable Kennel Attendant to join our team. You’ll help keep the hospital clean, organized, and sanitary for patients, clients, and staff, with duties ranging from disinfecting kennels to assisting the veterinary team.

You will work around dogs and cats, perform physical cleaning tasks, and maintain supplies. Weekend and holiday availability may be required; compensation starts at $16.50 per hour with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to perform cleaning tasks to high standards.
• Comfortable around dogs and cats, bodily fluids, odors, and messes.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, treatment areas, and other spaces.
• Wash and change bedding, towels, and linens; manage waste areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain clean floors and surfaces.
• Maintain organized animal housing areas; provide water and care for hospitalized/boarded animals.
• Assist with laundry and restock cleaning and animal care supplies.
• Follow all hospital sanitation, safety protocols, and assist the veterinary team as needed.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a veterinary hospital clean, organized, sanitary, and comfortable for our patients, clients, and team.What You'll DoCleaning and maintaining the hospital is a primary responsibility of this position.
