Job summary

Save A Dog is seeking a kennel assistant to join our Shelter Team in Sudbury, MA. Primary duties include kennel cleaning, feeding dogs, supervising outdoor play, administering meds, and maintaining a safe environment for dogs and humans.

The role emphasizes teamwork with volunteers, enrichment for dogs, and adoption preparation using reward-based training. Noon to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend days.

Qualifications

• Must have dog handling experience.
• Comfortable lifting 30 lb bags of dog food.
• Willingness to participate in reward-based training.
• Able to work noon–5, Mon–Fri, with some weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean kennels and supervise outside play groups.
• Feed dogs and administer medications as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment for dogs and staff.
• Provide enrichment and assist with preparations for adoption.
