Save A Dog is seeking a kennel assistant to join our Shelter Team in Sudbury, MA. Primary duties include kennel cleaning, feeding dogs, supervising outdoor play, administering meds, and maintaining a safe environment for dogs and humans.

The role emphasizes teamwork with volunteers, enrichment for dogs, and adoption preparation using reward-based training. Noon to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend days.

Formación

• Must have dog handling experience.
• Comfortable lifting 30 lb bags of dog food.
• Willingness to participate in reward-based training.
• Able to work noon–5, Mon–Fri, with some weekend shifts.

Save A Dog is looking for a kennel assistant to join our Shelter Team. The job entails cleaning kennels, feeding the dogs, supervising outside play groups, administering meds, and maintaining a safe environment for the animals and the humans.

You will work also work as part of the Shelter team, which includes volunteers, hence we’re looking for someone who can work as part of a team. You will provide enrichment for the dogs as well as preparing them for adoption, using reward-based training.

The hours are noon to 5 Mon-Friday and some Saturdays and Sundays. Some knowledge of office software is a plus. Dog handling experience is a must and reward-based, dog training experience is desired. You must be comfortable handling all sizes and breeds of dogs. The ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers is required for this job. Some heavy lifting is required such as carrying 30 lb. bags of food or carrying an occasional large dog is required.
