Job summary

Warr Acres Animal Clinic in Oklahoma City, OK, is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our busy veterinary team. You’ll care for dogs, cats and exotic pets during grooming and boarding, helping keep them comfortable and happy, and you’ll work alongside a team that truly loves animals.

This role offers a hands-on, fast-paced environment with weekend availability, staff discounts on veterinary services and boarding, and opportunities for growth and professional development as you learn more about

Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE

Responsibilities

• Provide grooming/boarding care for patients.
• Record admission details and pickup times.
• Record feeding schedules, appearance, and behavior.
• Monitor patient condition and well-being.
• Handle and restrain patients safely as needed.
• Walk patients several times daily for exercise and elimination.
• Provide appropriate food and liquids as required.
• Ensure cages and personal property are stored and labeled.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, runs and stalls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
