Job summary

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is seeking a responsible kennel attendant for a split weekend shift with holiday coverage. This part-time role offers ~10 hours per week, with Saturday and Sunday blocks and occasional weekday coverage.

Responsibilities include kenneling, scheduling boarding, feeding, and caring for dogs and cats, checking guests in and out, and assisting clients with pet supplies. Reliability, physical fitness, and a love for animals are essential. Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Show up on time for weekend shifts.

Job description

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is looking for a responsible kennel attendant to work a split shift every Saturday and Sunday. The position will require split shifts on holidays.

Salary: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule & Hours Part-Time | ~10 hours/week

• Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Holidays required: 7:30 AM – 10:0 AM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Additional weekday hours available when covering PTO.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Showing up on time to your shift
• Cleaning and setting up kennels for dogs
• Cleaning litter boxes and setting up kennels for cats
• Scheduling boarding reservations
• Checking boarding reservations in and out
• Ensuring all pets are fed and have water
• Giving medications to pets as needed
• Ensuring all pets are safe and comfortable while their owners are away
• Assisting clients with pet food purchases

Qualifications:

• Passion for working with dogs/cats and understanding basic behavior.
• Comfortable handling multiple dogs/cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Ability to work in a physically active environment (standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Strong communication skills to interact with both dogs and their owners.
• Willingness to clean and maintain hygiene standards.

This job is perfect for someone who works well alone but can be a good team player. Animal experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person! This position is every weekend and some holidays, it is perfect for someone looking for part-time hours, including high school students!
