Murrayville Veterinary Clinic is a small animal hospital serving the Murrayville community since 1980. Our practice offers ultrasound, radiography, and laser therapy. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for the animals at the hospital. A typical day includes:

  • Maintaining cleanliness of the hospital, including kennels, runs, treatment areas, and outside grounds.
  • Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders.
  • Monitoring and recording animals’ conditions, behavior, and habits.
  • Walking animals three times daily.
  • Notifying the Doctor or Veterinary Assistant of any medical or behavioral issues.
  • Cleaning treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
  • Maintaining laundry and keeping the laundry area organized.
  • Assisting the Doctor and Veterinary Technicians/Assistants with restraint and treatment of animals.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory of food, cleaning supplies, and laundry supplies.
  • Performing other duties that support the clinic's operations and client services.

Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Previous kennel technician experience is preferred.
