About the Role

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Kennel Assistant provides care to meet the needs of patients visiting for grooming and/or boarding. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe environment, walking, feeding, and administering medication to patients as needed and supervised by Doctors or Technicians.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent care for grooming and boarding patients
  • Admitting patients with attention to specific instructions
  • Recording patient information accurately
  • Monitoring patient health and behavior
  • Handling and restraining patients as needed
  • Walking patients regularly for exercise
  • Providing appropriate food and liquids
  • Ensuring cleanliness and proper identification of patients and cages
  • Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, and hospital areas
  • Washing and sterilizing bowls and laundry
  • Maintaining hospital grounds and waste management
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Ability to work on weekends as required
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; with assistance over 25 pounds
  • Practicing OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE

Pay Range: USD $15.00 - USD $15.50 /Hr.
