Job description

Lake Olympia Animal Hospital is located in Missouri City, just on the edge of Sugar Land. Established in the area since 1985, our hospital has grown to a 6doctor practice with a large team of caring individuals who strive for excellence in veterinary carefor our patients and their families. We are seeking a compassionate and hard-working Kennel Technician to join own growing hospital. We have one Full Time position open, 35-40 hrs/week. Would consider hiring 2 PT Team members in lieu of Full Time.

Full benefit package is available for FT position, including discounted pet care, and PT position would quality for discounted pet care. Will discuss in detail at time of interview.

Skills Required:

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends. Hours would be M-F (with days off) + every other weekend (Sat/Sun).
• Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to work on a computer system.
• Must be able to handle cats, dogs on leashes and work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
• Ability to think clearly and quickly to resolve problems.
• Must possess a love of animals. Must display a professional manner at all times.

Essential Job Functions:

• Sanitizes/disinfects pet guest suite, condo, and general boarding areas.
• Provides clean bedding and fresh water to each new pet guest.
• Feeds pet guests the correct type and quantity of food each meal.
• Ensures every pet guest has clean water at all times.
• Monitors and accurately charts consumption and elimination of each and every pet guest; reports any concern to manager.
• Periodically throughout the day performs a visual check on each boarding guest for well-being and safety.
• Cleans up pet excrement, as needed. Checks and cleans feces from cages/runs/condos as needed during the day.
• Monitors guest's belongings; cleaning them as needed; assures the return of the belongings to the owner.
• Launders pet bedding, toys, cleaning towels as needed.
• Communicates with lead when supplies are running low.
• Follows all safe handling procedures.
• Treats clients, guests, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all clients encountered while performing work duties.
• Assists other Team Members as needed.
• Follows all Policies and Procedures, following the Core Values established by the company.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
