Intermountain Pet Hospital of Meridian-Overland, located in Meridian, Idaho, has been serving the community for over 40 years. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for:
  1. Providing a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for animals being treated or boarded at the hospital.
  2. Maintaining cleanliness of the hospital, including kennel areas, runs, treatment, and outside grounds.
  3. Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders.
  4. Monitoring and recording animals’ conditions, behavior, and habits.
  5. Walking animals three times a day.
  6. Notifying the Doctor or Veterinary Technician/Assistant of any medical or behavioral issues.
  7. Cleaning treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
  8. Maintaining laundry and keeping the laundry area neat.
  9. Assisting the Doctor and Veterinary Assistant with restraint and treatment of animals.
  10. Monitoring and maintaining kennel inventory, including food and supplies.
  11. Performing other duties to support the clinic's operations and client care.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and stress management abilities.
  • Physical and mental capability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Previous kennel assistant experience is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay range of $9.30-$17.25/hour based on experience.
