Job Description: Kennel Assistant at Piper Glen Animal Hospital
Piper Glen Animal Hospital, located in Charlotte, NC, serves the Southeast Charlotte community as a full-service veterinary facility for dogs and cats. Our mission is to provide high-quality veterinary care with a focus on exceptional client service and patient care. We are seeking a passionate and caring team player to join us as a Kennel Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of the hospital, including kennel areas, treatment zones, and outdoor grounds.
- Feed hospitalized animals and boarders.
- Monitor and record animals' conditions, behaviors, and habits.
- Walk animals three times daily.
- Notify veterinary staff of any medical or behavioral concerns.
- Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
- Manage laundry and keep laundry areas tidy.
- Assist veterinary staff with restraint and treatment of animals.
- Maintain inventory of supplies such as food, cleaning, and laundry products.
- Perform additional duties to support the clinic's operations and client service.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and stress management abilities.
- Physical and mental capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Previous kennel assistant experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay range: $15.00-$17.00/hour based on experience.
