Job Description: Kennel Assistant at Piper Glen Animal Hospital

Piper Glen Animal Hospital, located in Charlotte, NC, serves the Southeast Charlotte community as a full-service veterinary facility for dogs and cats. Our mission is to provide high-quality veterinary care with a focus on exceptional client service and patient care. We are seeking a passionate and caring team player to join us as a Kennel Assistant.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of the hospital, including kennel areas, treatment zones, and outdoor grounds.
• Feed hospitalized animals and boarders.
• Monitor and record animals' conditions, behaviors, and habits.
• Walk animals three times daily.
• Notify veterinary staff of any medical or behavioral concerns.
• Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
• Manage laundry and keep laundry areas tidy.
• Assist veterinary staff with restraint and treatment of animals.
• Maintain inventory of supplies such as food, cleaning, and laundry products.
• Perform additional duties to support the clinic's operations and client service.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, good judgment, and stress management abilities.
• Physical and mental capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Previous kennel assistant experience preferred.

• Pay range: $15.00-$17.00/hour based on experience.
