Job summary

Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center in Allentown, PA is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital team. You will contribute to a clean, safe environment that enables doctors and nurses to deliver high-level care to patients.

This role directly impacts patient safety, hospital efficiency, and team success, supporting the welfare of animals and the staff who care for them. A willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital setting is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and treatment areas following hospital protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital including floors, exam rooms, and common areas.
  • Handle laundry including washing, drying, and restocking hospital linens.
  • Safely dispose of hospital trash.
  • Restock cleaning supplies in treatment and patient care areas.
  • Monitor for cleanliness, safety hazards, and report concerns promptly.

As a Kennel Assistant at EPVMC, you are a key part of the patient care team. Your work creates a clean, safe, and organized environment that allows medicine to happen.

Every kennel cleaned, every surface disinfected, and every task completed supports the doctors and nurses who rely on a properly maintained hospital to do their jobs.

What You Will Do
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and treatment areas following hospital protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital including floors, surfaces, exam rooms, and common areas such as bathrooms, lounges and lobby.
  • Handle laundry including washing, drying, and restocking hospital linens
  • Safely dispose of hospital trash
  • Restock cleaning supplies in treatment and patient care areas
  • Monitor for cleanliness, safety hazards, and report concerns promptly
