Job summary

Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA is seeking Servers to deliver Four Diamond service in its restaurant venues. You will greet guests, upsell menu items, and tailor service to individual tastes, presenting a personable and memorable dining experience.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and at least 6 months’ experience preferred, with fluent English and strong multitasking. Training on POS and service standards will be provided within the first 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Tips Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Greet tables with a warm, personable approach.
  • Sell menu items by pairing with guest tastes.
  • Act as ambassador of the guest, tailoring service to their expectations.
  • Take orders accurately and deliver promptly.
  • Take and deliver beverage orders for each table.
  • Pre‑set tables with items guests may need.
  • Clear soiled china, glass or silverware throughout dining experience.
  • Be knowledgeable about all menu items and wine.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of proper service etiquette with every guest.
  • Keep an accurate running check of orders and process payments according to procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Summary

Servers are Pechanga’s ambassadors of guest service within each of the restaurants. They customize service for each guest to create a memorable dining experience. They facilitate those dining experiences with menu, bar, and wine knowledge, service etiquette, and sales ability. Their contribution to the organization is moment‑to‑moment service with guests that provides amiable and personable contact for every table, creating a face to represent Four Diamond service at Pechanga Resort & Casino. They cultivate professional relations with clientele approaching each table as a business transaction, selling product and services available in the restaurant. Their contribution to the guests is to understand expectations and pair them with the exact resort product, dish, wine, etc. They understand and then provide based on that understanding.

Four Diamond Service Agreement

All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort & Casino.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting tables upon arrival with a warm and personable approach.
  • Selling menu items by being specific, pairing items that complement each other and the guest’s tastes.
  • Acting as an ambassador of the guest by asking specific questions and tailoring service to their expectations.
  • Taking guests’ orders accurately and in a timely manner consistent with the restaurant’s steps of service, then delivering food orders for each table.
  • Taking and delivering beverage orders for each table.
  • Pre‑setting tables with items that guests may need to enjoy their meal.
  • Clearing all soiled china, glass or silverware throughout guests’ dining experience.
  • Being knowledgeable about all menu items (food, beverage, wine).
  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of proper service etiquette with every guest.
  • Keeping an accurate running check of guests’ orders and presenting a final bill, then processing all payments according to PRC Cash Handling Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education / Experience / Training

A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. At least 6 months’ experience is preferred to successfully perform this job.

Communication Skills

This position requires the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. It also requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Furthermore, it requires the ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other Team Members of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

This position requires the ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with ten’s and hundred’s. It also requires performing these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. It also requires understanding problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.

Skills / Abilities

Ability to perform tray service. In many dinner houses, tray service is mandatory; be able to load, carry and unload trays safely for oneself and guests.

Ability to take directions well and without being offended. Servers will receive directions and requests from guests and management.

Multitasking and time management. Servers need to pace themselves with guest service, manage time between tables, multitask for maximum efficiency, and expedite service in line with the restaurant’s SOPs.

Possess fluent English speaking, writing, and comprehension skills.

Servers need to be personable.

Servers are expected to be knowledgeable about the menu and offerings within the restaurant they are working in, as well as amenities of the resort.

There are additional service‑related classes required of the service team within the first 90 days of employment taken through the PLDA.
