Job summary

Citi in Jersey City, New Jersey, is seeking a KDB+ Developer at Vice President level to build and support the analytics backbone for the Equities Electronic Trading product.

You will lead core KDB+ development, optimize low-latency data processing, and architect scalable analytics platforms. You’ll partner with trading and technology teams to deliver resilient systems, guide junior staff, and ensure risk and regulatory compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with KDB+ and Q language.
• Experience scaling and load-balancing KDB+ apps.
• Proven expertise in building resilient, high-availability KDB+ applications.
• Extensive experience optimizing queries on terabytes/petabytes of data.
• Strong knowledge of financial market protocols (e.g., FIX).
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the core development and delivery on the KDB+ platform used by Citi's Equities Electronic trading system.
• Build and maintain low-latency systems for processing large market datasets and analytics.
• Architect and maintain data platforms enabling efficient data management and analytics generation.
• Collaborate with management teams to integrate functions and define system enhancements.
• Resolve high-impact problems by evaluating complex business and system processes.
• Provide expertise in KDB+ and ensure design adheres to architecture blueprint.
• Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of how business areas integrate to meet goals.
• Coach mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as needed.
• Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and Citi policies.
