Job summary

British American Household Staffing is seeking an experienced TEMPORARY Full-Time Nanny on the Upper East Side of Manhattan to care for a 6-month-old son. The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of infant-care experience, is warm, engaging, and invested in development.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (50 hours) with potential occasional date-night babysitting. Start date ASAP; candidates should live within about 30-minute commute.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional childcare experience.

• Incorporate age-appropriate Montessori-inspired activities and opportunities for independent exploration.
• Introduce baby sign language.
• Take the baby on daily walks, outings, classes, and activities throughout the Upper East Side.
• Maintain consistent nap and sleep routines.
• Prepare and feed bottles.
• Support the transition to formula and combination feeding.
• Help with introduction to purees, solids, and age-appropriate foods.
• Prepare simple homemade purees or utilize prepared options as directed by the parents.
• Carefully manage the baby's dairy and soy allergies.
• Maintain the nursery, play areas, toys, and child-related belongings.
• Handle child-related tidying and organization.

Overview

A friendly, professional family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking an experienced TEMPORARY Full-Time Nanny to care for their happy, engaged 6-month-old son. Both parents have demanding careers and are looking for a warm, engaging, highly experienced caregiver who will be genuinely invested in their son’s development and become a long-term part of their family. This role may be temp-to-perm for the right fit. As of now there is no set timeline for the role, since this role will work as interim care while they search for their permanent nanny. However, it will likely be atleast a month.

The ideal candidate is bubbly, outgoing, nurturing, hands-on, and calm, with a minimum of 8 years of professional infant-care experience. The parents are specifically looking for someone who will actively engage with their son throughout the day through reading, singing, developmental play, outdoor time, and age-appropriate learning. They are interested in Montessori-inspired activities, independent play, and introducing baby sign language, and would love a nanny who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about supporting developmental milestones.

The family does not have a pet and do not ask the nanny to travel with them.

Salary and Benefits
